fiberglass boats
I want to resore and change paint on a 16' fiberglass boat what steps do I take to do this?
I just bought a 1966 16' tahiti fiberglass boat in rough shape. I would like to rip out the interior. Then sand it down the inside and out. then reapply all the "stuff" what ever that is. I am looking for the steps to take and the products to use. Also any good books or videos on the topic.
While many boat makers use gel coat to give their boats a glossy finnish, many of the high end yachts are painted. hatteras yachts has painted their boats for many years. A good marine paint done correctly is a thing of beauty. You must take care and noy scimp on the prep work, sanding and filling. Go to a good marine store such as West Marine or Boaters World for info or contact:
