epic ski boats
Is it worth a holiday to Texas?
I am planning a trip to the US, I am from England and its for me and my friend, we are both 23, will be 24 when we go. I was thinking Texas as want to go somewhere different and never been to the states before, is there a lot to do there, and most importantly what are the men like lol! Are there real cowboys haha! Also are there parts better then others to go to?
Any help would be great!

Since I have lived in Texas my entire life, I would recommend you go somewhere else in the states. It's not that Texas is a bad place to visit, but there are by far more interesting and fun places to visit. If you were to come to Texas, it depends on what you would like to do. If you're looking for cowboys, I would recommend the Houston Stock Show & Rodeo in late February and early March. Pretty much every cowboy from all over Texas will be there in full wranglers, boots, and hat! Houston is also extremely large, and there are plenty of things to do there including going clubbing. Also, Galveston is nearby with its beaches and nightlife. Austin in central Texas is also a cool place, considering it's where I go to university. It has more of a small town vibe in a big city atmosphere. There's the infamous bar and club lined 6th Street. The street is so popular with party goers that they block it off on Friday and Saturday nights. Tons of live music and alcohol. During the day there is nearby Lake Austin with its massive lake houses and people tubing, water skiing, boating, swimming, etc. The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum was always one of my favorites as a kid. Right across from the University of Texas, it's a multistory museum with tons of exhibits and attractions featuring the history of Texas. It also has an IMAX Theater that features popular films sometimes. Recently they showed the last Harry Potter....epic. Austin is also known for its music and laid back, hippy culture. This is reflected in its eclectic central and south Austin neighborhoods with hidden coffee shops, bakeries, and other social hangouts. I recommend Quack's Bakery north of UT campus. Also, the food here is incredible. Don't be afraid to try the trailer food pretty much wherever you go in Austin (I know it sounds sketchy, but trust me you won't regret it) Dallas is probably considered the gem of Texas, and many falsely assume it is the capital of Texas. The Dallas-Ft Worth metro area is enough to keep you busy for days and days. The monstrous Galleria mall in Dallas will keep you busy for at least a day, if not more. My girlfriend loves shopping at what seems like every store there. Ft Worth has the Texas Motor Speedway. I can't even begin to tell you everything you could do in DFW.
That being said, as a foreign traveler, you may enjoy Texas because it is definitely different from many other places in the world. But because I've lived here forever, I kind of itch to see other places. My personal favorites would be New York City, Washington DC, Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas. The plus side of NYC and DC is that the farther northeast you go in the US, the closer major cities become. For example, New York City, Washington DC, and Boston, 3 MAJOR cities, are all within a few hours of each other and are connected by train, which is fairly unique to the states. In contrast, Dallas is 4 hours from Austin, which is 4 hours from Houston, and you have to either drive or or fly to each one because there is not a train to take you there. Grand Canyon in Arizona is spectacular, even if you just take into account its size. It is also relatively close to Las Vegas (4 hours driving.) The Hoover Dam is also close to Vegas, but I found it rather boring (others may beg to differ.) But again, just the sheer size of it is amazing. If you're an engineering/history buff then I'd recommend the Dam.
I can't speak for the West Coast because I've never been. But I'm sure it has it's perks. I hear a lot of people talk about San Francisco. That might be fun! Seattle is also supposed to be very interesting.
If none of these places suit you, there's always Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida 
Also close to it is Universal Studios Resort, home of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Anyways, that's my advice. Others may have some different experiences. Enjoy America!!!

I fished Emigrant on 9/4 and really good luck. I got in the water a little after 7am and within 15min I landed a nice 2lb bass at the south end of the lake. I was using a Rapala spinner(looks like small trout). then the bite was off for the next hr. I hit the shore line and landed a 1 lb bass then lost one. I got out into the deep water thinking the bite was on and had no luck until i hit the other shore line and that's where i landed another. Around 10am all the ski boats and jet skies hit the water causing the conditions for the float tube a bit miserable so i headed for the shore. plus I had to make the ducks game….
Fill the kayaks with foam and build a deck.
Actually a Mastercraft is one of the best ski boats out there and hardly “cheap shit” at around 50K.
a couple of water ski boats harrasing a Destroyer or Aircraft Carrier… funny…. ha ha ha
remember the smart ass little shit on the playground who taunted the bully because the bully could never catch him.
today… bullies bring guns to school and shoot small smart as kids.
these types of incidents occur all of the time without major media coverage and hyperventilating jar head reactions like yours…
