What's the most popular music format in Southeast Asia?

For people who've traveled there? Is it records, cassettes, CDs or has internet downloading taken over?

I haven't been to Cambodia (just moving there this year) but from all the documentaries that I've seen it's the CDs that dominate. You can get a pirated copy of just about anything in markets and it's always CDs. Some people still have cassette players but it's dying out. Don't know how many have records, LP, vinyl - a lot of it was destroyed by the khmer rouge. They even banned tennis because it was seen as an elite activity and thus going against their philosophy. Now it's being revived again and Cambodia already won some tennis competition in 2007.

And while I don't know the exact internet population, but internet downloading must be popular among 2 million cambodians who already live by western standards. Don't know how many of them have internet but that's a big group of people who can get electronic gadgets. Even a lot of families living on a houseboat on the Mekong or the Tonle Sap lake have TVs and refridgerators. It's still a poor place but it is developing. While they don't have khmerpop developed as much as kpop is, but I found khmer rap & hip hop on Youtube and they're quite good! At least it's much better than going to a karaoke bar. Lol.
