ebay aluminum boat
Good paddle to kayak with? ?
I just got a small dagger centrifuge and I'm looking to get back into paddling. The paddle I have used since I first started is older then I am. My dad bought it when he was in college in 86, I was born in 95 o have no clue what brands are good or not and it's time that I get a better paddle that can withstand some whitewater. If I can get some specific brands I would appreciate it!
That's a vintage but nice little river runner and playboat.
Whitewater paddles run from about $70 to over $400. Best range of them is Harmony and Werner.
The Werner Desperado is a quality midrange paddle for intermediate to advanced at $170.

The Harmony Ty warp is a little cheaper but a nice one (has kevlar reinforcement) for around $120

I recently picked up a Harmony River Passage entry level paddle for myself, a good deal at $80. BUT the new models have an aluminum shaft which I don't like as well (mine is fiberglass):

BTW, whitewater paddles don't really work for kayak touring and vice versa. They are much shorter and have different shaped blades that are offset on the shaft. I use between a 215 and 230 cm blade for touring kayaks and my whitewater paddle is a 200 cm. The Centrifuge would be a dog for flatwater touring anyway, they are made to turn on a dime and don't track very well for that reason. But for fast streams that kind of older boat is great fun.
You probably need new flotation bags for the bow and stern too. They are usually cheaper on Ebay than anywhere else. Finding neoprene sprayskirts for the older boats (which tend to have smaller cockpits than the newer ones) can also be challenging.

I was watching The Middle last night and the parents refused to take the boy to the library everyday like he wanted and forced him to use the internet. He lamented not having the feel of paper. He bid on boats on ebay, bought in to scams from Nigeria and finally told his parents about the nice man he needed to meet in the park. They took him back for books.
