can a johnson 175 go on saltwater?

my family may be moving to california, and we are taking our boat. can its motor go in saltwater? its a hurricane deckboat.

The motor can absolutely go in salt water. Remember to make sure you have the correct zincs on the engine and wash it down and flush it out after use.

Hey Mark! Well, I'm sorry you didn't get to have that teaching opportunity but I'm sure there's something better around the corner. We were getting excited for you but we prayed for the Lord's direction and I know other people did too. Sounds like you've been having one party after another!! Fun!! This must be an exciting time of the school year there. I'm so glad that you get to go to Hoon's again and I'm sure you guys will have fun. Have you seen the Pirates of the Carribean yet? We had a good time in LaConner but it was a little strange w/o you there!! Dad had a bad cold, and you know how he gets when he's sick so that was kinda to bad. On the Sun. we had the b-day dinner which was fun! We were a little worried about the weather since it rained in the morning but it turned out not bad. It was Memorial Weekend after all! Becky's family came and Bob and Jean, and Aunt Mary and Ron so we had quite a group! The boys ended up staying up on Sun. night which worked out good, and then Becky and John could do some stuff on Mon. It looks like they are working on a deal for a trailer so I hope it works out for them. This week has been really busy at the salon which is great of course but I am tired today! The weather has been downright hot (80's) but now it is getting more normal but still nice. We are going to go out on Bob and Jean's boat Sun-Mon. so that will be nice and relaxing. I love sitting out on the deck of the boat in the sun on the water with a good book and a nice breeze! Nick has been playing indoor football this spring and their team made it to the playoffs which is Sat. If they win that game then they play the championship game the next Sat. at Everett Memoial Stadium so he is excited of course! I think Sean's soccer is on a break right now until summer. Just wait until to see the big girl Kailee–she is a walking, talking, running busy little toddler now! You will be shocked how much she has changed! She keeps them on their toes! I better go get some things done–have fun, enjoy your last few weeks and remember we are all praying for you! Lots of Love, Matt and Alicia

Thank you for your kind comments. The Bass Lake Belle was built on an old pontoon deck boat. I used a wood frame and the rest was cardboard. I kept it for a month, but the rain soon began to ruin it and I had to disassemble it. I had a great time building it and plan to enter another float in the year 2012.I am the Grandson of Frank Jones. Jim Budd

I went on a cruise to Alaska once.

You can actually leave the boat when it's at port and then you can shoot things.

Also, if you leave from Vancouver you can buy Cuban cigars and smoke them on the deck of the boat at midnight.

The really weird thing was that in June the sun doesn't go down until 11pm, and it just goes behind the mountains for a little while.

It was awesome.

I am glad you made it safe. 24 hour coffee shop and Taco Bell, what else could you need!!! Now you keep yourself safe for us. I know you are serving your country well. Just wish it was closer to home. Millie and Dick left for a 10 day trip to New Jersey because Dick's mom turns 86 this week. Steve and Tracy bought a deck boat last month. Steve Toms (the jewelry guy) got married on July 7 (the good luck day)in Panama City. Darlene wanted to make sure he remembered the date! I am house/dog sitting this weekend up at the river. I am going to sit on the dock and watch the boats go by. Need a relaxed weekend. You know I got no relaxation when Jenna was here. After one of her visits I NEED some downtime! I am glad she is moving to Atlanta. Close enough for each of us to visit each other. My supper club girls are already planning a road trip! Who knows, I might run into Ron White again. That was so cool. Enough for now. I miss and love you much. Mom XXOO
