cuddy cabin Sport
is it possibe to wakesurf behind outboard?
i have a grady white 18 foot boat can i wake surf behind it if so how fast, much rope ???
I've pulled tubes and skis behind all sorts of boats, most recently my 22' Pursuit Cuddy Cabin. I have a 1996 225 HP Johnson outboard and it has a top speed of about 41 MPH on a good day. I pull skiers at their comfort level which is usually around 20 MPH. The key with pulling a skier or wakeboarder is just getting them on top of the water. If you can do that, they can tube/ski/wakeboard.
To attach the ski rope you should use the two stainless eyes that are on the stern (by the motor) on each side. That's what they are there for, pulling things with the boat. You can buy a bridle that connects to those eyes and is made specifically for pulling skiers and such, along with the rope. I would suggest buying these items new because they are made for this purpose, they will include the handle, they are rated for the correct loads, and if they fail it won't place the blame squarely on your shoulders. I bout a set last year and they were very reasonably priced. I got mine at Academy Sports and Outdoors. I checked their website for them but didn't see them there. I know they have them in the store though. Most sports stores like Academy or West Marine should have them.
