Trailoring a boat or Leaving it at a marina...? Which is recommended?
For a bowrider boat? How about for a yacht cruiser? Sailboat yacht?
And how much is the average marina fee to keep it there (or yacht club fee)?
Depends on a lot of factors. I elect to have my two trailerable boats on a trailer, but my motor yacht has to stay in the water. My 26' Express Cruiser stays on a trailer, as does my 21' Sport boat. The hulls stay clean and I never worry about sea life clogging the water intakes. Also, the plant life never grows and the hull remains pristine. I keep both in an assigned space at the marina storage at a cost of $90 and $70. For on the water berthing costs $10 per foot of LOA for my motor yacht. Then Electric and water is extra and metered for an additional $200 per month. My monthly averages $879 per month (60' motor yacht). Since I'm cruising in Alaska, I just don't pay the metering of water and electric.
I'd recommend keeping the boat on a trailer and on land. There are just too many things that affect a small boat kept in the water.
Most sailing boats stay in the water due to the keel of the boat. Keeping a boat on a trailer gives you much more options for use since it can be towed to lakes, rivers and cross country.
