When does a sail boat become a yacht?
Modern sailing boats are described as dinghies, keel boats, cruisers, catamarans, etc. but when is it OK to describe a sailing boat as a yacht? Is it size? Or because it has a weighted keel? Or is it because it has a cabin?
There's no rule on when a sailboat is a Yacht. The customs have changed over the years, so most anything over 32 ft. with a cabin can be considered a Yacht. I hope this helps.
