cruiser Power
would you watch a power cruiser race series?
There are so many "power cruisers" available now but now way to compare them. There's also no venue for the manufacturers to develop refinements and prove that their product is more deserving of your cash.
Much like the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series, I'd imagine this race series would use fairly showroom stock cruisers (unlike NASCAR) and have displacement classes to allow the lighter models to compete. It can be held at all the current road race courses around the country and be covered by Speed Channel or whatever to gain enthusiasm and race coverage. Harley would have a chance to show off their V-rod against the Warrior and what not.
Would you watch, or better yet, would you compete and on which bike? Which bike would win and why?
On roadrace courses A groups on 600s get well past 150mph in the straights, while hauling down a 700lb. cruiser with their brakes from that speed will be painful. I wouldn't think many people would put themselves through that kind of punishment, but that said it might be very popular. I'd say a Warrior would win the first season, though Honda and Suzuki would begin serious race development since cruisers are still their best sellers in the U.S.

A CB750 isn't a cruiser.
Sit on it, and see if you like how you fit on it.
It will be enough power.
With your size and experience, you can ride any bike that isn't too small. At the risk of offending half the people here, I'm going to suggest you visit your local Harley dealership.
CB750K is a standard. It's the one I started on, and it served me very very well for about 4 years. I certainly got my $500 worth out of it!
