correct craft boats
What is the difference between a Boat, and a SHIP?
Is there a particular feature that would allow me to classify my eventual purchase of a watercraft as a SHIP instead of a Boat? Is there a certain feature that ships have? Is there a certain length requirement? I'm not worried about the distinction that would classify it as a Yacht, but a SHIP.
I want to have someone say to me "nice boat" and i will be able to accurately correct them by saying "that's not a boat, it's a SHIP".
Even if it was a 3 foot long craft, but I could still call it a ship would work if applicable.

It depends on the circles one moves in. I came from out west where there are real ranches, right now I live back east. Up the hill there is a five acre piece of land that the owner has a beautiful sign over the gate "Tough Luck Ranch". To him its a ranch to me it isn't even an acreage. But I will not insult him, by calling it a garden.
In the navy, a ship has to be 100 ft or more in length.
