correct craft boats
Do you have to replace Water Impeller?
I have a Pro -Craft bass boat with 110merc. haven`t used it in 10 years A friend wants to borrow it , I was told that you must replace water pump impeller if it sat that long .Is that Correct?
Yes the impeller should be changed at least every 2 to 3 years for the average user. I know some people will say I have had my engine for years and never changed it. I have shown many people their impellers after being replaced and seeing the cracks in the rubber and the hardened they have come to understand the need for this. If it has set for a long while like yours has you should make sure the carbs are not gummed up and change the lower unit lube and above all the impeller.
