compact pontoon boats
Looking at putting in a stone driveway?
I need to add a place to park my pontoon boat in my back yard. I was thinking of having a truck load of crushed rock delivered. I was thinking of bordering with PT 1x2 to keep the stone from ending up in the yard. It will need to be around 60ft. Long and about 10ft. Wide. What is needed to prep for this? Can I just have the rock dumped and spread out? How much stone will be needed?
You need to strip off the topsoil and sub soil first. Putting stone on top soil will just sink in and cause a muddy mess. Put down a good base, 6-8" thick of good gravel and compact it in. You can rent a plate compactor almost anywhere. Then top dress Approx. 3" of 1/4" stone.
To figure yardage multiply L' X W' X depth and then divide by 3 this will give you your yardage.
Also some towns require a permit for installing a driveway and you should call "call before you dig" to make sure there is no underground pipes, etc.
And also make sure the ground is solid enough to support the dump truck They will be hauling about 18 yds. and the truck, loaded will weigh around 72,000 lbs.
Big tow trucks cost big$$$ to pull the truck out

i know it is pretty frustrating to deal with people like that, but the most wisest thing would just be to forgive….because its not going to get you anywhere if you stay mad at her and talk back at her and fight. Just be humble about it, and forgive. On the one hand, the advertisers are responsible. It's easy to sell loud go-fast excitement, or gross luxury, not only because they are superficially appealing, but because an image can be sold along with the product. A person buys an 'exciting' boat not only to have it, but to be exciting himself, because the marketing deliberately creates that association.
From the consumer's side, besides falling prey to marketing strategies, car culture reigns supreme. It's unfortunate, but not really surprising, that the most popular boats would be loud, fast, and drivable like cars, instead of slow, quiet, and requiring some specialized skills to use.

Yes, there are more pontoon boats around here than you'd think. Our grandchildren love going out on the boat. I didn't realize that Walleye are Pickeral! I don't pay much attention to fish stuff, as I don't like them. I don't eat them either. I don't even like seeing them in the refrigerator or freezer. I joke with Mr. B about how I really wish fish would be wrapped in non-see through packaging so I didn't have to look at them.
