What can you do if you don't have a title to a boat even if you legally own it?
My parents have a boat on their lake in Canada that they bought years ago. They have a bill of sale from a dealer in NY, but they have no title because it's on a private lake. The dealer no longer exists now.
They bought a new boat, and offered to give me the old one to use back in Ohio where I live. I contacted the OHIO BMV and they said it must be titled to register it.
Is there any way I can register it? Or am I forced to scrap it for parts? We have the Bill of Sale, and the VINs have never been reported as stolen.
They said a bill of sale isn't enough to get a title.

I think I found the photo on the Ahoy website. The site has an interesting new set up. I see that prospective buyers need to register before they can see the current list of boats for sale. I wonder if they still need to pay the deposit up front as well? I don't think I know of any other business that asks for money up front like this.
I'm not sure if you will get many people beating a path to your door with such an obscure link to your boat – you might be lucky
