Was my reply to a friend okay for some new equipment he purchased?
My friend got a promotion for work 6 months ago and he is into sales, so 2 weeks ago, he won his project, and got a raise, then he talked about getting 2 contracts out from customers. Last weekend, he purchased a boat lift for his ski boat which looked really nice and expensive. Some guys were replying to his FB post saying it was nice equipment and a good purchase. I replied back to him saying... "Congrats!" I said this to him, because he mentioned few weeks ago he would upgrade and be buying a new boat lift, and with his work going so well, he was able to buy something which was expensive and good. My "congrats" to him was a good reply, right?
I did not say it was a good boat lift or about the equipment, I simply wrote down, congrats
No this was not ok. You should not have abbreviated. Now he will think you were making fun of him.
