Should I give my dad money?

Last summer my dad talked about my son coming to CA from TX to visit this summer. I sent an email saying that would be great and how much does he think the plane tickets would be and he said not to worry about it. Well he is in CA now and he has taken him to see so many things, baseball game, boat ride golden gate bridge, alcatraz, and now they are staying at a hotel and going to disneyland for two days. He left on Tuesday and will be coming home on Tuesday. Should I give him money for this. He's not poor or anything, I'm just talking about etiquette..or will a thank you card be appropriate enough?
thank you! He comes to visit once a year and stays down the block at his parents house.
Yes of course I would have the thank you note from my son. Thanks for your answers. I figured so but wanted to know other opinions.
Oh brother....Best Answer is going to be hard on this one.

Your father is doing what he wants with his own money - and sounds like he is having a great time with his grandson.

The Thank You note should come from your son - not you.

If anything, you could send your father a framed picture snapped during their vacation.

Patricia Rossi's Boating Etiquette

painting a barge?

Is there an etiquette you have to stick to when painting narrow boats?
Does it have to be the traditional red greens and blues with castle and roses decorations
Or can it be contemporary?
I have a friend who paints fantastic murals and would love her to paint the outside of mine.
I've never seen anyone paint them other then the norm.
thanks Andrew, that sounds great.
jed
hard to say, what is an eyesore?
I love to see graffitti but lot's more people hate it.
My friend does murals of exotic flowers, alien landscapes and other wierd stuff

Most people choose traditional colours but its not essential.

There is one boat with Winnie the Pooh all down the side that does the rounds. One near us is bright yellow. There is another with Harry Potter on the side. There is also one with Frodo Baggins climbing up Mount Doom.

About 3 years ago there was one on the K&A that had a Lamboughini on its side, it looked like it was driving on the water. But I have to say, it wasn't admaration that got people talking about it.

You have to display the BW number, thats all.

Nature/sci-fi-based murals ? Why not, it'll fit right in and probably not as rare as you might think

Bare in mind that your boat will get "war wounds" so think about how you will maintain it.

Ours was just dark blue with cream piping plus all the Castles and Roses you don't like. If the paint job is good, the hull a good design and condition, it'll still get noticed ( if thats what you are after )

You will always find soemone on the cut who doesn't like your boat, so what..

We live canalside, so if I see an alien landscape go past this summer I'll be sure to take a gamble its you and say hello.
