My husband and I want to start our own business. How do we get started on our own website?
We are trying to sale handcrafted merchandise, like wooden boats, gazebos, jewler boxes and ect. We are also making leather wallets, purses, belts and ect. Just wanting some help to get started on our own website. How can we get started and not have to pay anything.

They are like ebay, but for handmade items. you can set up a store with them. If you want to have no start up cost, it is your best bet. If you have your own website it will cost you to have someone professional design it and to host it. But more importantly, it will cost a lot to advertise your website. Without traffic to your website they will be no sales. It take a lot of advertising to get people to even know your website exists.
You can also set up an Ebay store and sell on both. Ebay has a huge amount of visitors and is easy to set up.
www.etsy.com is probably the biggest website for handmade items sold by individuals and small companies and they get a lot of traffic too.
