Macgregar Yachts has been building production sailboats since the 1970's. Their Bluewater started out as a model of a boat that could be powered as a simi-planeing hull. A unique ballast system was used when you wanted to "sail". Then by pumping the water out, you lightened the hull sufficiently to be able to power the boat with an outboard motor.
Bluewater (ep2 link) yachts was the builder of houseboats for many years. In recent years the cost of fuel has severely limited the demand for houseboats, particularly ones of heavy fiberglass construction. Some of the older ones can reach between 25-30 MPH, with 660HP but burn as much as 70 gal. of fuel an hour.
The newer bigger yachts use turbo diesels which are more efficiently, your still consuming significant of fuel to obtain 20+ speeds..
