bayliner ski boats
Can i install an aftermarket ski pole ?
I have an 84 16' bayliner with an 85 force outboard. I am currently using the two transit hooks for towing tubes etc. but the rope often gets down in the water while pulling. For tubing its probably not a big deal but for wakeboarding or skiing it would be better if the rope was up higher. Where would i find an aftermarket pole that i could install myselfe. How do they mount securely that wont damage the boat. Any input would be nice.
A few aftermarket manufacturers make ski pylons that attach to three point brackets you can install your self. check Cabellas or Bass Pro Shop.

my 1989 bayliner has water in the ski storage area?
we just put the boat in the water for the first time. the swim step is missing and the holes are not filled yet but in the ski storage area there is now 4 in or so of water is this normal or could it be coming in the holes from the swim step? it was in the water for about an hour. it does not run at this point. or have any power to turn on the point.
actually the holes were sealed with something but you can still see through them. i only put it in the water to make sure it floats before installing all the other parts and on the transom im building a backer plate for that. thank you for your help i won't worry so much now.
First off you put the boat in the water way to soon, yes the water will enter the holes and allow the hull to fill, you have also allowed another problem to accrue, buy not filling the holes you have allowed water to penetrate into the wood it the transom, before filling the holes you will need to give the transom enough time to dry, many boats go to the salve age yard do to bad transoms, Bay liner is one of the boats that are built from the poorest quality wood, look for soft or spongy spots in the floor, chances are you will have some if the boat has any age to it,
Don't mean to scare you, just give it plenty of time to dry before filling the holes Preferably with Epoxy, NOT Silicone

Have you seen the prime-time TPIR? The Showcase Showdown is up in the $80k range. I think I saw one that was over $100k. You will need to know the price of things like Vipers, large ski boats, etc. if you're going to see Bob in prime time.
I wish I knew why Congress will not impeach Bush and Cheney. If there were ever a President that deserves to be thrown out of office in disgrace it is George W. Bush. This week he added yet another reason for immediate impeachment , the so called Iranian provocation of our War ships in the Hormuz Straits. He is obviously hell bent on starting a war with Iran before he leaves office and he is pulling out all stops in an attempt to drum up support . The nuclear threat did not work, disproven by the NIE report. So now he resorts to lying about Iranians in ski boats threatening our billion dollar destroyers in the open sea. Of course you in the media help him out by reporting his lies verbatim and then never following up with the truth. Now we have millions of Americans who believe Iran is thinking about attacking our Navy with Ski Boats for Gods Sake. Kinda reminds me of the old story about Saddam spraying the US with posion gas using remote controlled toy planes.
If Bush starts another war with Iran and a few hundred thousand Iranian citizens are killed to match the few hundred thousand Iraqi citizens, I will blame our spineless Congress and you in the mass media for enabling one of the greatest mass murders of our time George W. Bush..
