When i turn my key to on my needle on the tach jumps
There are several fuses. Most or 7.5/10/20/30 Amp (12VDC) The size of each fuse is marked on the end of the fuse. Look at the one you takeout. Bilge pumps and bait well are 7.5....running lights 10. The instruments/ign for the outboard is 20. Check the DF/radios.....they often use slow-blow and smaller fuses. Tilt and trim on the motor often use a large 30 amp.
Check all of the wiring on the tach. first, and the gray wire all the way back to the motor. This can also be a rectifier problem, which would mean that you charging circuit has failed. Test instruments are needed. The needle should zero when turned on, but then when the engine starts......read the rpm. but it's 15 years old, and could have been sitting 99% of it's life....this is a replaceable item.
