Yes.
Paying cash for a product is an "even trade." Trading one item for another of the same value is an even trade. Revenue departments don't care if you pay by cash, or cows or chickens.
If you think about it, if they allowed that, the owner of an auto dealership could "trade" a brand new car for a fancy new bass boat from the owner of a boat dealership and both could escape paying sales tax. It doesn't work like that.
People trade stuff all the time without reporting anything (even though it might be technically against the law). Your problem here is that both of you must register those bikes with the state. The state will not only treat the value the same as a cash sale, they will match against fair market value. If you try to lowball the value, the state will assess based on their sources, blue book, etc.

I agree with the one that proposed a Sales Tax to pay for Health Care. But, lets just insure the ones that, from their IRS Tax Forms, show they cannot afford it themselves. Put the Sales Tax in a pot and spread it among the Health Care Providers to pay for their insurance. No Illegals, only Citizens and LEGAL aliens. Many of the uninsured can and do Self Insure (pay for it themselves).. Others prefer a nice bass boat (insert toy here) to insurance. Others really can't afford it, and those are the ones we should help first, and subsidize later, as their income increased, to the point we can stop subsidizing them. Cheaper, efficient, and little involvement of Government.
Same here… I find I much prefer non-metallics to metallics for the same reason. The metallic often takes away from the color and I don’t think they look as clean (the opposite of overdone, not the opposite of dirty). The worst are the paint jobs with multiple different color flakes like my inlaws’ QX56. It’s a car, not a bass boat.
Basically every non-technical metalcore/deathcore/hardcore band.

If the ECSO is patrolling the lakes in a bass boat, however, maybe someone will donate a real boat soon.
Or, maybe they can seize a real boat in a bust.
Or, maybe they'll put logos and emblems on the bass boat to match the truck that is pulling it on the way to patrol the area lakes.
