El Salvador Vacation?
Purpose: Volcano tour, beach, nightlife. Need recommendations and tips.
Volcano tour - Please go to El Cerro Verde - The view is incredible and there is no way to get a bad picture from any angle..Make sure your tour guide takes you all around the crater so that you get to experience the entire volcano. Also, if you have time, have the guide take you down into the crater..there is a really cool lake where people jet ski and go boating.
Beach - Las Olas Beach House in La Libertad is Amazing! This quaint beach location has a "Baja California" style. The rooms are clean; the staff is bilingual (English/Spanish) and they arrange any kind of surf tour you may want - if that's what you are interested in. They also have a beautiful infinite horizon pool and 2 saltwater pools as well.
Night Life - This is debatable...what kind of night are you interested in? Dinner and a club? Then, yes, you may want to go to La Gran Villa. Just avoid Tia Maria (or whatever the yucky Mexican restaurant's name is) - the food is way gross, the drinks are watered-down, and everything is way over-priced. I think the Italian restaurant next to Jungle Snow is really good. I'm sorry, I can't remember the name, but you can not miss it. They serve hand-tossed, gourmet pizzas and pasta too. Also, their margaritas are REALLY good - their prices are very reasonable (by American standards...)
The most important tip I can give you is - have fun. El Salvador is a beautiful country that has a lot to offer its tourists. You just have to know where to go...Oh yeah..please be safe too. I hope this helps!

BAJA ROAD TRIP

Hope I can make it to the end of this exciting series, I enjoyed it but the answers do nothing to enlighten me. I take it Berkeley is in NJ. Could you clarify further.
Also, isn't this Jersey?
* Driving carelessly or recklessly, with little regard for local traffic regulations
* Boorish, loud conduct in public areas (such as speaking loudly on cell phones and playing loud music)
* Wearing sneakers or socks with sandals on the beach
* Wearing no shirt in local restaurants and stores
* Quickly acquiring a full-body sunburn
* Blocking the driveways of houses on the beach
* Littering on the beach
* Asking for change for a dollar in quarters and dimes for use on the parkway tolls.
* Having a “farmer's tan” or “t-shirt tan”
* Getting in the way of surfers or body boarders in the ocean.
* Getting into arguments and sometimes even fights with locals
* Talking with a strong/forced New York or North(east) Jersey accent
* Walking their dog(s) without a leash
* Calling the beach “the shore”
* Degrading area shops & restaurants as not being like the ones “back home”, yet returning every summer/weekend.
* All though looked down upon, they typically tip better than the locals.
* Are known to say, “I own this town.”
* Arriving on Memorial Day and leaving on Labor Day.
* Driving 50 MPH in the left lane on the Parkway
* Driving 80 MPH in the right lane on the Parkway
* Renting Jet ski's or boats at local rental facilities
