aluminum pontoon boat
what would I sell a 1984 JC Pontoon Boat for without triailer?
It is 20 FT and we do not have a trailer. It has an aluminum top. Needs some work. Any ideas?
If your vessel is in good shape, you should get about $5,000 for it... If the pontoons alone are in good shape - they are worth $4,000.

I do recall that the very first time I was ever in a train, I was in the locomotive with my paternal grandfather slowly making it’s way through downtown Bedford. I was 5, I think. But I can vividly see several of the controls and guages, and downtown moving slowly by from the window of the biggest thing I’d ever ridden. That same grandfather was also the first to let me drive a boat … his pontoon boat on KenRay Lake … but that’s another post. [...]

On the one hand, the advertisers are responsible. It's easy to sell loud go-fast excitement, or gross luxury, not only because they are superficially appealing, but because an image can be sold along with the product. A person buys an 'exciting' boat not only to have it, but to be exciting himself, because the marketing deliberately creates that association.
From the consumer's side, besides falling prey to marketing strategies, car culture reigns supreme. It's unfortunate, but not really surprising, that the most popular boats would be loud, fast, and drivable like cars, instead of slow, quiet, and requiring some specialized skills to use.
