How much should I pay for a boat?
I'm looking at a 12' aluminum boat with a trailer. Everything is in working condition and registered. No engine included. How much should I pay? How much would a new one be?
It depends on the boat & trailer manufacturer. Big names will cost more. Best way to find out what the cost should be is to contact your local bank or credit union. Ask to speak with a loan officer and ask the loan officer your question. Since they deal with this kind of stuff on a daily basis, they will know what the boat and trailer is actually worth. You could also call a local boat sales place and ask them what the going rate would be also. Me, I would go with the bank or credit union. The cost will vary and sometimes greatly from area to area, and from season to season. You can usually buy a boat cheaper during the winter months rather than during the summer.
