I may be a dumb city boy, but even I know a chicken when I see one!
Believe it or not, we have bald eagles and golden eagles all over our local lakes and rivers. They've made a huge comeback since DDT was banned. Marcia and I went on an “eagle boat cruise” of Millerton Lake, just outside Fresno (it's literally 15 minutes from our house). We had no idea they lived in our back yard. We saw 3 adults with the white head, and one juvenile that was all brown. Marcia's friend took some aweswome pictures with his huge zoom lens, including one flying right over us, and another in a tree disemboweling a squirrel. We had an eagle expert telling us all about them. The local Indian cultures worshiped them, and they are the only people who are allowed to collect their feathers for ritual uses. In fact, they are allowed to hunt a very small number of them.
When he told us this, I surmised that it probably tastes just like chicken…
i have not yet purchased a sea eagle boat although i am looking at putting 1 in my travel trailer. the solar panel would be a great idea to use on the boat and maybe on the trailer when dry camping to keep the battery charged. keep me informed.
